Wondrous (is the unstruck) sound, wondrous (is knowledge of) Vedas*.

Wondrous (are the) creatures, wondrous (is their) variety.
Wondrous (is the) beauty (and) wondrous (are the) colours.
Wondrous (is the fact that the) creatures roam (around) naked.
Wondrous (is the existence of) air and wondrous (is the quality of) water.
Wondrous (are the extraordinary) tricks played (by) fire.
Wondrous (is the creation of) earth (and the process of) production (of fauna and flora).
Wondrous (is the) engagement (of the) living (beings in) enjoyment.
Wondrous (is the creation's) connection (and) wondrous (is its) detachment (from You).
Wondrous (is the endless) hunger (and) wondrous (is the worldly) enjoyment.
Wondrous (is Your) praise (and) wondrous (is Your) discussion.
Wondrous (to see that some get) distracted (and) wondrous (is the fact that some find the) path.
Wondrous (is the fact that to some You appear so) close (and) wondrous (that for others You seem to be at a) distance.
Wondrous (to others is your) appearance everywhere (in) everything.
Nanak (says those with) blessed fate (are able to) realize (this). ||1||

(Created through) nature (are the) nether (worlds and space of) sky, (through) nature (is the formation of) shape (of this) entire (worldly existence).
(Through) nature (is provided the knowledge of) Vedas, Puranas (& western) holy-books (and) nature (created the) entire power (of thought).
Nature (decides the) food drinks wearing (of beings), nature (develops) all (the) love (compassion etc.)
(Through) nature (You exist as different) castes, variety (&) colours (and in) nature (You are in all) creatures (of the) world.
(Through) nature (You are the) virtues (as well as) misdeeds, (so also in) nature (You are the) pride (and) ego.
(Through) nature (You Yourself exist in the shape of) air, water, fire (as well as in the) nature (of) earth's soil.
Entire nature (is) Yours (and) You (are its) Creator Owner, (Your) praise (too is) pious (like Your) purity.
Nanak says You care for all through Your ordain, (maintaining) Your own (uniform) presence (everywhere). ||2||
Pauri (Guru Nanak Dev Ji):
(You) Yourself (after) enjoyment of (the worldly) joys, reduce (the body to) ash freeing (the) soul.
(After) completion (the) worldly journey, (the soul is) taken (with) chain in (the) neck.
There (one's) deeds (and) praises (of Almighty undertaken are) evaluated (and the life's) account is clearly explained.
No relief (from the) consequences (is) possible (and) how (can the resultant) crying (be) then heard.
Foolish mind (has) wasted (the) lifetime (opportunity). || 3 |
