First Step:

With Guru's assistance understand the grand worldly play of the Supreme Creator

Slok Mahla 1 (Guru Nanak Dev Ji) :
(Am a) sacrifice (to) my Guru hundred times (each) day.
Who turned ordinary men into Devtas, taking no time in doing so. ||1||

Mahla 2 (Guru Angad Dev Ji):
Even if hundred moons arise (and) thousands (of) Suns shine.
Despite such (bright) light (its) extreme dark (in) absence (of) Guru ||2||

M 1 (Guru Nanak Dev Ji):
Nanak (says), doesn't heed Guru's (advice), acts (as per desires of his) own mind.
(Such person is) like scattered plant (of) sesame (that is) left (in the) field unharvested.
Left (unharvested) in field, Nanak says (it has) hundred claimants (to be its owner).
Pity (that despite) flowering (and bearing) fruit (it) carries (no seed but) ash within (its) body. ||3||

Pauri (Guru Nanak Dev Ji):
(Firstly) you established yourself,
(then) you created (your praiseworthy) Name.
Secondly (you) created (the) nature,
(And) establishing (yourself) therein view (this worldly enactment) joyfully.
You yourself (are the) donor (and) doer,
(You, with) pleasure,  grant (wishes and) shower (your) blessings.
You (yourself are) aware (of doings of) everyone,
(You) give (and) take (one's) life (&) body.
Having established (yourself in worldly expansion) view (its enactment) joyfully. || 1 ||
